General Information

The merger was approved by both White Crown and Colorado Credit Union’s Boards of Directors earlier this year. On September 30, 2022, White Crown’s members overwhelmingly voted to approve the merger between the two credit unions.

Consolidation in the financial services industry is happening at an accelerated pace. This means that the smaller institutions like White Crown do not have the ability to compete with the larger institutions and big banks.  Although White Crown is financially healthy and stable, White Crown’s Board of Directors recognized the need to provide you with an expanded selection of products and services that are not cost-effective for a smaller institution, and so they looked at several potential merger partners. The Board unanimously agreed that merging with Colorado Credit Union would best serve members moving forward.

There will be no change to membership status. Your membership tenure at White Crown FCU will carry over to your CCU membership and any active account products will translate to equivalent CCU account products after the conversion is complete.

The branch will continue to be staffed by the same individuals, though instead of being White Crown employees they will be CCU employees as of October 1, 2022. Two members of White Crown’s volunteer Board of Directors will join the CCU Board of Directors.

Accessing Your Accounts

Colorado Credit Union branches can still be used as a Shared Branch until the system conversion is completed at the beginning of February 2023. Additional information will be forthcoming.

CCU’s branch locations are:

  • Downtown Denver: 717 17th Street, Denver, CO 80202
  • Ken-Caryl/Littleton: 10026 W. San Juan Way, Littleton, CO 80127
  • Brighton: 2380 E. Bridge Street, Brighton, CO 80601

All current White Crown members will have access to CCU’s services once the conversion is complete February 2, 2023. If you’d like to access these services sooner, you’ll need to open a new account at CCU. However, this will result in two separate accounts when the conversion is completed.

Yes. There will be no impact to day-to-day business for White Crown members. The Lincoln Street branch will not be open for business on February 1, 2023, but members will have account access using shared branching, debit cards and credit cards.

After the conversion, White Crown members continue to have access to the branch at 2001 Lincoln, but will also have full membership access to CCU’s 4 branch locations along with shared branching locations nationwide.

Yes, continue using your White Crown debit cards until the conversion is complete on February 2, 2023.

At that time, you will need to activate your new CCU debit card and begin using it. Your new CCU debit cards will arrive to you in mid-December 2022 (UPDATED!).

New credit cards will be mailed at a later date.

Your Colorado Credit Union debit cards will be mailed in mid-December and can be activated and used no earlier than February 2, 2023.

Your Colorado Credit Union credit card will mail at a later date, still to be determined.

Yes, continue using your checks and deposit slips until after the conversion is completed on February 2, 2023. You will be able to use current White Crown checks for one year after the conversion is complete, or you can order more after February 2, 2023.

CCU personal checks will not be automatically ordered for White Crown members.  You may use checks for one year after the conversion is complete or order CCU checks at a branch or through the Online Banking app after February 2, 2023.

You can use ATMs at all CCU branches along with ATMs that use the CO-OP Shared Branch network. All other ATMs may be subject to surcharges.

Existing ACH payments and direct deposits will be transferred automatically to your CCU account during the conversion process.

Yes. Your White Crown accounts will receive statements branded with White Crown FCU until the conversion is complete on February 2, 2023.

Members are encouraged to download any account history that they deem necessary for their records prior to the conversion on February 2, 2023.  CCU will record limited account history (up to one year for statements and up to six months for history) after the conversion.

Until February 2, 2023, you will tell any shared branching locations that you are a member of White Crown Federal Credit Union.

General Account Questions

Once the conversion is complete, you will have two CCU accounts with two different account numbers.  These accounts can be consolidated with the assistance of CCU branch staff if you’d like, or you can keep the two separate accounts.

For the vast majority of White Crown members, there will be no change to your account number. We anticipate the account number conversion, if any, taking place in January 2023.

There will be no change in terms on existing White Crown accounts.  There will be an equivalent account type at CCU that accounts will convert to. The conversion is scheduled to be complete on February 2, 2023.

White Crown’s routing number will change at the conversion date.  White Crown members will be able to use their existing checks for one-year post-conversion, or you can order more after February 2, 2023.

There will be no changes to current products. All terms and rates will transfer with your account.

Like White Crown, CCU is insured by the National Credit Union Administration.

General Loan Questions

There will be no changes to current products. All terms and rates will transfer with your account.

White Crown members will continue to apply online at WhiteCrown.org or at the 2001 Lincoln branch and will follow CCU’s rates and terms.

Current loans will transfer to an equivalent loan product at CCU along with all existing terms and rates.

Until the conversion is complete on February 2, 2023, you will continue making all payments the way you currently make a payment.
